Repair Services What We Do

I do service and repairs on most pocket watches. I fully disassemble the movements and clean them in a 3 jar L&R mechanical cleaner. Once the movement is fully serviced and reassembled it is put on a timing machine.

  • $75 Clean Oil & Regulation
  • $45 and up on the Mainspring (Cleaning is recommended)
  • $55 Staff (Cleaning is recommended)
  • $35 Roller Jewel replacement
  • $30 and up on (depending on size) beveled glass crystal for open face or a hunter style crystal
  • $25 and up for Crowns
  • $30 Balance jewel replacement
  • $60 and up for Hairspring replacement (if available) installed and watch timed
  • $25 and up for Bow replacement-if available

When sending your watch in please wrap it very carefully. Use bubblewrap to surround your watch and peanuts or newspaper to stabilize it. It is better to over pack your watch to give it maximum protection. The sender is responsible for the cost of shipping and insurance for the return shipment. I normally use Priority Mail, but on occasion will use Registered Mail by USPS which is a very secure way of shipping. I normally let the customer choose from the USPS shipping choices.

Most repairs can be completed in 30 days

All work is pre approved before completing.

I accept Paypal sent to Ysub9@aol.com. Money Orders and checks accepted mail to:

My experience with Rob was courteous and professional in which not only did he explain the work that should be done he also gave you options at a reasonable price. Very knowledgeable in his trade and I received Pocketwatch it is functioning better than ever in which I proceeded to have all 4 of my timepieces service by him. Highly Recommended, Honest & Knowledgeable will continue to do business for years to come."

"Rob Carter is a knowledgable, talented and friendly watchmaker who proved to me his capability after he repaired, serviced, and assembled four of my pocket watches. The work was done correctly the first time for a very reasonable price, and I'm 100% satisfied with the results. I highly recommend Rob, and I will be sending my watches to him for servicing in the future."

- Mark Reynolds, Groves, TX

"Without Rob Carters expertise in the field of American Railway Watches I would not be a collector of such. Rob is always most helpful and free with his advice, all the watches I have collected have been through his hands for checking servicing and cleaning, he has also repaired some of my European collection the last of which was a very old ‘International Watch Company’ pocket watch. Rob Carters advice is always sought before I make a purchase or bid on another watch for my collection, and I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending him."

"If you are looking for or if you already have an older mechanical pocket watch that needs repair, contact Rob Carter. He willingly shares his knowledge, and the quality of his work is exceptional. I wouldn't recommend anyone else."
